For artists | Photography with Michael Wildman

This is an opportunity for all artists who struggle to photograph their own work to a reasonably professional  standard, kindly shared by Trina from the fifth floor.

Michael Wildman is a professional photographer who exhibits his work internationally, (he is also one of Studio 518’s models along with his partner, Carolina.)  He  is currently holding photography courses in St Margaret’s House.

An idea in progress….

While Trina was bending his ear about one of her current photography problems, they decided that there may be more of us who would like an hour of Michael’s time (£20.00 per hour).

He thinks an hour for basic information, lighting and camera, this would be using your own camera.

So far we have a diverse crowd , fabric designers, costume makers, oil painters, watercolourist, charcoal on paper artists, you get the idea.  All of us with our own particular problem to solve.  We would like to build the numbers up to a course size, anyone else interested?

The course would be held in Studio 5.18. Future dates and details to be worked on, but a show of emails would be the start.

Pop-up Opportunities for Designers

made scotThe lovely people of Made from Scotland have reached out to us – their concept store is extending its stay due to demand:

Due to the popularity of the pop-up shop we are extending our time in Rose Street until Christmas.  As you may already know, we are running a concept pop-up shop with a slight difference…

The ground floor is our boutique, filled with the Scottish independent and graduate designers that we already work with on our website, but the first floor houses the Pop-up Galleries!  In these Galleries designers can hire space to sell work direct to the public.

Option 1 – Pop-up Galleries:

These galleries open every Saturday for a pop-up event and we are now taking bookings for November and December.

In this space designers can:

  • hire a table or larger space (some individual rooms available) for the Saturday event (open Saturday from 10.30am – 6.00pm).  Tables to be manned and managed by the designer.
  • have display space in the front window on the ground floor under the banner ‘Who’s in the Pop-up Galleries this week?’ for the week leading up to the weekend and during the weekend event

Prices: Start from £60.00 + VAT for a table

Option 2 – a table in the Boutique:

For November and December only we are also offering the ability to hire a table in the downstairs boutique during the week.

In this space designers can:

  • hire a table in the Boutique (open Mon, Tues, Weds & Fri from 10.30am – 6.00pm, Thurs until 7.00pm)
  • tables to be manned and managed by the designer.
  •  only one designer per day, multiple days can be booked.

Price:  £30.00 + VAT per day
