News A message from Karl, who is leaving

After three happy years in the offices of St Margaret’s House, I am currently working my notice. I wish to thank everyone for their encouragement over the years and everyone’s frequent, kind support of the projects I have dreamed up. Below are some images that capture some of my best memories from my time here.

I have (hopefully) hidden it well but I have no formal training in the arts, making me all the more grateful for every single dealing I have had with residents and visitors as a result of this job. I believe that a good experience is one that changes you for the better, but you are able to improve things within it in turn – I sincerely hope that is the case here.

We are welcoming Cécile Levavasseur as the new Community Arts Assistant, fresh from her work assisting Sophia at Kelburn this year. I know that she will be made warmly welcome, in the same way I was.

My last full day in St Margaret’s will be this Thursday 28th July. From August, I will be working at the Gallery of Modern Art Two as the shop manager. If you are in seeing an exhibition or are visiting the cafe, I hope you’ll come buy to say hello. And buy 20 postcards. And a book.

Feel free to keep in touch. Being Edinburgh though, I’m sure I will bump into you all soon anyway.

Until then, take care, everyone…
Karl Finn Graham
